DRAFTING

12

Now I know I am using empire for my magazine I am trying out making my magazine cover. I was originally going to use the white 'Empire' masthead as a 'black and white/good and evil' effect. However, as I was having the movie title white I felt it would make the magazine quite dull so I tried a red font colour instead - I really liked this so this will be staying the same.

When analysing 'Empire' magazines, a lot of them had there date, price and occasionally there website in the middle of the M. I found this really interesting when analysing it therefore I included it into mine.

This is my magazine front cover so far, I am happy with everything at this stage, however now I need to think about what I am going to put in the blank spaces next to the girls.

DRAFTING

I have decided I want to use 'Empire' for my magazine masthead; due to the fact I am using 'Empire' I have decided to analysis three Empire magazines so I create my magazine in a similar way.

DRAFTING

Once I had decided on what picture of the woman I was going to use, I realised I had to do something else to the poster to fill the blank space so I looked back at my research into similar products. http://clairewalsh1234.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/blog-post_27.html
This was the one that caught my eye; the being in the background not only fills in space but adds a 'horror' feature to the poster. Therefore I tried the same with mine.

I began to put the title and credits on the poster.

Adding the red font in the poster but some life into it and makes the date a dominant thing which is what I want it to be.

DRAFTING/TARGET AUDIENCE

This is a draft of my movie trailer. It was at this point that I was happy to show my teacher, peers and friends. I felt I needed to show them as they were my target audience for my movie so their feedback would be something I would need to take on board to make sure my trailer fits their needs.
The comments I got back were good, however critiques were things such as
- Take away the eclipse in the writing
- How do we know its the best movie? Perhaps take that out as a breathing space before we see the little girls

DRAFTING

I am beginning to do my horror poster and have chose this for my picture. The reason I chose this picture is because I like the closeness of it and how you can see every detail in her face, I feel it creates a sense of realism and depth.
Here I am changing the size of my poster to one that is more thin and long; this helps to fit my picture in perfectly.

I really dislike the edges on the left hand side of the photograph as it makes it look very unprofessional, therefore I decided to make the left hand side slightly transparent - this makes the picture become a part of the darkness in the background and could suggest there will be 'paranormal activity' happening in this movie.

Here I begin to put the title and the credits in. I have done the same transparent effect on the credits.

Once I had completed most of my poster, I showed my peers and my teacher. The both felt the picture could be better, and show more emotion. After having a look through my pictures it was decided that this photo would be much more powerful on the poster, so I tried it out and actually really liked it.
